Ode to a car

Gentzy bought that cute Toyota Corolla back in 2001.

20 years later Gentz pulled it behind a truck when they moved to Oregon.

Brennan has driven it across the country many times and back.

It’s provided transportation and fun and no energy does it lack.

Now Ava who turned fifteen has got her driver's permit

And guess what she’ll be driving? That Corolla just won’t quit!

I love when a car keeps going and going like that and it can get passed from one family member to another.

When I told my dear mother in 2010 that I was starting a blog entitled: Making Scents of Life (name at the time) she said: "That's a tall order!" And indeed it is. My active, healthy mother of almost 94 years had suffered a massive stroke and all of the freedom and independence she so valued was gone. Just a few weeks before she died she told me, "Live life to the fullest."

So, I began posting different experiences I was having and feeling, but haven't done anything for awhile.

During this Covid crisis, I have had the desire to return to writing some poetry which I enjoyed during my college years and a bit afterwards. I figure it is never too late to start and so I'm back, sharing what I have written.

Thank you for stopping in to read a few of my attempts at creativity and I hope they might have meaning for you as well and inspire you to possibly write a poem or two yourself!! And if you aren't into poetry, just write down some musings of the beautiful story called your life.
